A BILL to amend article twenty-two, chapter seventeen of the code
of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as
amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated section
nine-a, relating to the placement of signs along interstate
exit ramps warning of "high traffic violation areas."
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article twenty-two, chapter seventeen of the code of
West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended,
be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section
nine-a, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 22. OUTDOOR ADVERTISING.
§17-22-9a. Warning signs.
Upon a determination by the state department of highways
that an exit ramp from an interstate highway leads to an area
with a high incidence of traffic citations, the department of
highways shall install a sign warning motorists of the high
traffic citation area.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to provide warning to
motorists on interstate exits of approaching a high traffic
citation area.
